Maritime Greenwich, United Kingdom

Greenwich has royal, architectural, naval and scientific associations. King Henry VIII, Queen Mary I and Queen Elizabeth I were born at Greenwich. The Queen's House was the first Classical building in England. The old Royal Naval College was formerly the Royal Naval Hospital and currently houses the University of Greenwich and the Trinity College of Music. The Royal Observatory, located in Greenwich Park, is home to the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and the Prime Meridian line (Longitude 0°). In 1884 it was internationally agreed that the Greenwich Meridian would be the reference of the world time zones.
