Antoni Gaudi (1852-1926), architect and designer, is one of the greatest
figures of the Art Nouveau style (Modernismo in Spanish).
Amongst his most important works, located in the Catalan city of Barcelona, are the Palacio
Güell (1888), the urban residence built for Eusebi Güell and his family, the Parque Güell
(1914), conceived as a residential area for 60 individual houses (of which only 2 were built),
the Casa Mila (1910) with its undulating facade, also known as La Pedrera, and the unfinished
monumental Church of La Sagrada Familia.
