Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Edinburgh's origin has been a settlement since prehistoric times. David I, son of St. Margaret, held court at the castle from 1125, and since then the Old Town began to grow. Edinburgh became the capital of Scotland in the 15th century. As the population increased, the neoclassical New Town was built in the 18th century in several major developments.
